Friday, January 1, 2016  Station 51 Responded to a total of 182 calls in 2015. They included:


-Structural Fires = 24


-Fire, Smoke, CO & Water Flow Alarms = 42


-Vehicle Fires (Car, Truck, Tractor, etc.) = 15


-Brush / Rubbish Fires = 12


-EMS Assist = 26


-Vehicle Accidents Without  Rescue = 18


-Vehicle Accidents With Rescue = 10


-Misc. Rescues = 1


-Hazardous Material Release = 8


-Misc. Service Calls ( Citizen or Police Assist, Trees & Wires Down, Traffic Control, Etc. ) = 26








   


 

Friday, December 25, 2015  It's with deep regret that we learned today about the passing of a dear friend to our department, New Tripoli Fire Police Captain, 1709, Earlin Kunkle. Earlin will be sincerely missed by all.

   


 

EMR Training

Monday, December 14, 2015   Firefighters from station 51 took part in EMR training.   They practice things like applying splints for broken bones and also patent packaging.  Special thanks to firefighter Zach for playing the victim.



   
 

Santa Visits Weisenberg

Saturday, December 12, 2015   Station 51 gave Santa a tour of Weisenberg on Saturday afternoon. Children from across the community came out to visit with Santa and see the fire trucks at one of the various stops across the Township. Midway through the event stations 51 & 62 (Cetronia EMS) were dispatched for a motorcycle accident on Independent Rd near the Township line. Engine 5111 & Tanker 5121 responded to the accident while Truck 5131 and Utilities 5191 & 5192 kept Santa on schedule.

   


 

Smoke Detectors Save Lives At Early Morning House Fire

Tuesday, December 1, 2015   Stations 51,17,44& 62 were dispatched for a reported chimney fire after the homeowners were awaken by their smoke detectors. Chief 5101 arrived on scene to find a large modular home at the top of a long driveway with flames coming from the front & side walls & roof. Live electrical wires were also down from the home's overhead service. A second alarm was immediately requested bringing additional tankers from stations 8,10,14,21,25,26&46. Station 32 also responded with their cascade & UTV, station 1 RIT, Station 11 for additional manpower, stations 62,66 and the Weisenberg VFD supporting members for rehab & canteen services. 

   
 

New Sign Dedicated In Memory Of Reynold Reinert

Monday, October 19, 2015  Firefighters & Supporters gathered with Township Supervisors and members of the Reinert & Cappuccino families to dedicate the new electronic station sign in memory of Reynold G. Reinert. In addition to serving as long time Township Administrator for Weisenberg & Lowhill, Reynold was active in many community organizations. He was also a founding member of the Weisenberg Vol. Fire Dept. The sign was dedicated in his memory by his late wife, Grace, children Kelvin and wife Karen Reinert, Sandra and husband Charles Cappuccino, their families and the community. This new sign will help the Fire Dept. share valuable information with the residents of our community. We would like to thank everyone who made this project possible !


   
 

Firefighters Talk To Area Children About Fire Safety

Friday, October 16, 2015   Firefighters wrapped up their annual fire safety presentations today while welcoming the 3rd graders from Weisenberg Elementary School to Station 51. Students learned the importance of fire safety, had an opportunity to ask a bunch of questions and checked out the apparatus. Their teachers also became part of the presentation after gearing up in turnout gear & SCBA. Last week, Firefighters also spoke to preschoolers at Creative Kids South & students in grades K-2nd at Weisenberg Elementary. It was a fun time for everyone as usual and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
